Wayne Sweepers Achieves Rule 1186 Certification

The South Coast Air Quality Management District announced on February 14th, 2012, that Wayne Sweepers LLC has achieved the performance standards established under AQMD Rule 1186 for its Gladiator and Warrior models of street sweepers. Rule 1186 outlines stringent test procedures for street sweepers to verify and achieve PM10 efficiency.

PM10 refers to particles with a material size of less than 10 microns. Reduction of these particles is a public health concern, as they contribute to poor air quality and can be inhaled by the human lung. Wayne Sweepers uses various methods of dust suppression to ensure safe levels of particulate matter are emitted during the operation of its equipment.

Wayne Sweepers’ entire product portfolio is now certified to meet PM10 efficiency. The company’s other sweeper model, the Centurion, was certified to meet PM10 efficient operation several years earlier.
