2012 National Pavement Expo Recap

This year’s National Pavement Expo “where pavement means business” in Memphis, Tennessee from February 15 to 18 was well attended.

With more than 50 seminars and workshops, attendees could learn about parking lot striping for contractors and applying best practices, to how to market your company and measure your performance and productivity. The workshops covered everything that a business owner needs to run and grow a small business as well as specific training on paving.

They even featured roundtables specifically for pavers, sweepers and stripers as well as industry roundtables on sealcoating and infrared where peers from all over the country came together to talk shop. Between the workshops, seminars and roundtables, attendees came away with a wealth of new information.

The Expo had 85 exhibitors covering all aspects of the business including the latest products and services available, with big names like Elgin, Nite-Hawk, Schwarze, Tymco, and SealMaster as well as a plethora of others.

Exhibitors and Expo attendees took a break Thursday night to meet and mingle over appetizers and refreshments on the exhibit floor. “It’s such a great opportunity to visit with people face to face that I usually just talk to over the phone,” says Gideon Smith, CEO and Publisher of North American Sweeper.

Next year’s Expo will be in Nashville. We hope to see you there!
