Sweeper Summit 2020 Goes on – Virtually

This has been a year of unprecedented challenges, with the cancellation of meetings and in-person events being the norm. But, 1-800-SWEEPER managed to rise up to meet these unique challenges by hosting its annual Sweeper Summit in a virtual setting.

The Partners of 1-800-SWEEPER convened November 4th – 6th for a virtual Summit that included the industries only benchmarking workshop, vendor presentations and new initiatives including the kick off of our Holiday charitable campaign, the 800Challenge. The event was very well attended with over 60 participants, despite missing the traditional fellowship of the in-person meeting and the highly popular outdoor equipment exhibit complete with demonstrations. However, the excitement is already building for next year’s 2021 Sweeper Summit & Equipment Expo in Las Vegas at the popular Lake Vas Vegas Hilton Resort. Carolyn Bell, Director of Marketing for 1-800-SWEEPER says, “2021’s outdoor equipment expo should be our biggest one yet. With the cancelling of other equipment trade shows throughout the year, manufacturers are eager to showcase their equipment, especially in an outdoor environment. The Sweeper Summit 2021 will give them that opportunity in Vegas”.
The realized success of this year’s Sweeper Summit Virtual event could not have occurred without the loyal support and participation from 800’s Vendor Partners. This year’s Title Sponsor was Keystone Plastics, 1-800-SWEEPER’s new exclusive broom supplier. Silver Sponsors included Imperial Supplies, Schwarze Industries and ODRA Sweepers. Bronze Sponsors were Lawson Products, Kimball Midwest, Kaman Industrial Technologies and Chevron/Texaco. Ben Steyer, Executive Director of 1-800-SWEEPER says, “Our Vendor Partner relationships are very important to us. Their support of our events and initiatives is a true testament to the strength and value of our organization.”
This year’s Summit concluded on November 6th with the customary champagne toast, as all others have, led by 1-800-SWEEPER President, Mike Lucht. Welcome bags complete with vendor swag, a mini bottle of champagne with a wine glass were distributed to all participants prior to the meeting and Uber Eats delivered lunch remotely to all the Friday registrants. “Our unity as a group is strong,” says Steyer, “We look forward to being able to meet in person in 2021.”
